Ares used this sword in the final battle with Kratos, but he underestimated the Ghost of Sparta and was impaled through the chest with the Blade of the Gods. The sword had a slightly larger role in the God of War novel, as it was used to kill the god instead of the Blade of the Gods, which was never mentioned.
