After Kratos was blown out of the Methana Volcano, he crashed in the island of Crete. There he witnessed the destruction of Atlantis and made his way through the broken island. Upon entering the temple of Athena, he spoke with her through a statue of the goddess, only to be angered with her reply. While traversing through destroyed areas of Heraklion, which was highly affected by the eruption; Kratos eventually found the Key of Crete, and used it to open various gates and continue onwards. Kratos managed to opened one of the gates, which led him to the Mounts of Aroania and out of Crete.
