The Desert of Lost Souls is the open desert just east of Athens where Kratos has to search and kill the three Desert Sirens. The Desert of Lost Souls is also where Zeus exiled his father Cronos. He commanded him to forever wander the desert while carrying Pandora's Temple upon his back, until the desert sands rip the flesh off his bones. The Titan Horn, at the end of the Desert Ruins, is the only way to bring Cronos to whoever wished to brave the dangers posed by Pandora's Temple. It also seems there may have once been a city in the desert. In God of War III, it is safe to assume that the desert no longer exists, having been drowned in Poseidon's flood.
