Greek MythologyEdit

Hades' Palace, located in the Underworld, was where the god Hades and his wife Persephone resided. In the forecourt sit the three judges of the Underworld: Minos, Rhadamanthus, and Aeacus. There at the trivium sacred to Hecate, where three roads meet, souls are judged, returned to the Fields of Asphodel if they are neither virtuous nor evil, sent by the road to Tartarus if they are impious or evil, or sent to Elysium (Islands of the Blessed) with the "blameless" heroes.

In God of War IIIEdit

During Kratos' quest to once again escape the Underworld, he ventured into Hades' palace, where the God of the Underworld lived and patiently waited for him to clash in one final battle. The palace was also Persephone's final resting place which was located at the center of a chamber inside a tree. After Kratos went through the statue of Hades, into the throne room, where he met with the god himself. There both clashed, Kratos was victorious after he managed to kill Hades by ripping out his soul, using his own weapons. As Hades died the souls of the Underworld were freed and escaped to the mortal world; further plunging the world in chaos.

TriviaEdit

  • Peiritheus and Theseus had venture in the Underworld in search of Persephone. But only Theseus escaped with the help of Hercules, as Peirithious remained trapped as punishment for daring to seek the wife of a god for his own.
