After Kratos had passed through many obstacles, he had found the enigmatic Grave Digger who had aided him in the past. After the Grave Digger attempted to persuade Kratos to turn back, Kratos simply continued his journey.

After finding the Key of Crete on a dead body, Kratos left Heraklion and moved on to other areas of the city. After opening the gate which led him out of the city, Kratos left to the Mounts of Aroania.
