Perfection

Perfection is the second of the five Challenges of Hades. Kratos must kill twenty Fire Guards, without getting hit by them. They will spawn at a constant rate, but will stop once there is five Fire Guards in the room. Kratos does not have magic for this challenge.

Restrictions[]

  • Kratos cannot be hit by any of the Fire Guards.
  • Kratos does not have any magic.

Strategy[]

There are a couple of ways to tackle this challenge. It is possible to clear it by simply dodging (or parrying) the Fire Guards attacks and then attacking with the Blades of Chaos' Plume of Prometheus technique. The Guards are highly vulnerable to this attack and will be easily sent flying to the air, even interrupting their attack. Having a decent blast radius it is possible to keep 3 or more guards at bay, while dodging or blocking whoever is unaffected.

Another alternative is to simply parry with the Sun Shield and counterattacking. The Blades of Chaos works better due to having a wider area of effect rather than the Gauntlet of Zeus which is more focused for one on one combat. This strategy is more risky however as a mistimed block can result in damage to the player and thus fail the challenge.

Nonetheless, a much easier way to clear this involves using the Gauntlet of Zeus' Olympic Thunder (Air) technique. Simply double jump, charge and unleash the attack. The devastating damage and wide area of effect will make quick work of multiple Guards at once. By double jumping one can avoid all their attacks and perform one-sided slaughter with impunity. For this strategy to work it is best to group as many Guards as possible. One should be mindful of Guards not caught in the blast or not visible, as sometimes one of them might perform an attack which is not fully discernible by the camera's angle.
